Perhaps the best kept secret in Colorado is that there is as much to do in the summer as there is in the winter. The spring and summer seasons are ideal & glorious. Wildflowers and aspens paint fields, valleys and mountainsides with an array of magnificent colors. The picturesque and rugged Gore Range and Ten Mile Range is a literal playground for hikers and mountain bikers. Summit County's bike path and trail system, the most extensive in Colorado's High Country, will take you from Breckenridge around beautiful Lake Dillon and back. Mountain biking trails abound, many which can easily be accessed by taking the ski lift up the mountain. If cross county biking is more your style, then the famous Peaks and Colorado trails can easily be accessed from downtown Breckenridge and considered some of the best mountain biking in the world.

Lake Dillon, famous for its beauty, is a marine's Mecca and weekly regattas will challenge the most experienced sailor. The primary source for the lake is the Blue River, one of Colorado's premier gold medal trout streams - and just one of more than a dozen streams within an easy drive of Breckenridge. Cast your line into our cool waters, or go horseback riding to an abandoned gold mine.

Summit County is home to five world-class golf courses, with Breckenridge being the only municipality in the world that can boast its own Jack Nicklaus-designed 27-hole golf championship course.
